Refer your Client for Travel Insurance & Earn Commission
For US or Canadian advisors who are not licensed to sell insurance products to Canadian customers, Manulife has provided the option to use their Licensed Insurance Advisor Team (LIAs) through their referral process.

When you refer your client for insurance following the below steps and the client books insurance, you will receive a commission less a 15% administrative fee charged by Manulife. See the “Referral Commission” column for the exact amounts.

  1. Book your clients travel.
  2. Ask your clients if they require travel insurance.
  3. If they say yes, you can tell your clients that you will refer them to a licensed agent from Manulife and that you will send the relevant information via email to Manulife, cc’ing them. Let your clients know that they should receive a response from Manulife by phone or email within 48 hours.
  4. Once the booking is completed and your client would like to be referred to Manulife, use this Email Template and send to Travel_referral@manulife.ca. Please also cc your client.
  5. After you receive communication from Manulife that your client has purchased the insurance please login to the Manulife portal with your UN/PW to view and download your Commission amount (labelled as Advertisement Recognition)
  6. Invoice your sale in ADX. Note: you can invoice it on the same reference to keep all the information together!
  7. Please note that depending on the province where the traveler is located, Manulife pays out its commission either on a monthly or quarterly basis.
